Background One of the reasons for the increase in cesarean section is the lack of knowledge of mothers in choosing the type of delivery. The present study aimed to determine the effect of education through pregnancy application during pregnancy on awareness and attitude and choice of delivery type in primiparous women at Shahid Alavi Specialized Medical Center clinic in Mashhad. Methods This study was a semi-experimental type. Seventy primiparous pregnant women who had no restrictions for birth was selected. Sampling was randomized and purpose-based. The data collection tool was a questionnaire. The starting time of the training was considered from the end of the 27th week of pregnancy and continued with regular intervals until the end of the pregnancy. The questionnaires were completed once before the training and once after the training as a pre-test and post-test by the research units. SPSS software (version 26) and MacNemar test and descriptive statistics were used for data analysis. Results According to the results of the MacNemar test, a significant statistical difference was seen between women’s knowledge and attitude after the training compared to before (p-value < 0.01). Choosing the type of birth was preferred before and after the training. But following the performance of women showed that only 62.86% of them chose natural birth. In fact, before the training, 40% and after 72.86% of women had chosen birth. Conclusion Pregnancy education and application during pregnancy is effective in reducing the choice of cesarean section, so this application with the topic of birth and cesarean section has improved the level of attitude and also the positive attitude of pregnant women towards birth. Creation of facilities and promotion of different methods of painless childbirth and training of maternity staff to perform birth is expected.

The effect of DECO-MOM mobile application for a prenatal environmental health program on environmental health behaviors

Background: The DECO-MOM mobile program was developed to enhance prenatal environmental health behaviors among pregnant women, addressing the challenges of climate change and environmental pollution. This study aimed to explore the effects of the DECO-MOM app on personal and community health behaviors, quality of life, subjective health status, depression, anxiety, and e-learning satisfaction, guided by the revised protection motivation theory. Methods/Design: This non-randomized controlled study employed a pre-post-test design with experimental and control groups. The study analyzed data from 31 participants in the experimental group and 34 in the control group after a four-week mobile application intervention conducted from September 26 to October 24, 2023, in three cities in South Korea. Results: The experimental group demonstrated significant improvements in personal environmental health behaviors (p = .003), community environmental health behaviors (p = .001), quality of life (p = .043), and e-learning satisfaction (p = .005) compared to the control group. Significant increases were observed in subcategories such as lifestyle (p = .005), dust management (p < .001), reduction efforts (p = .001), involvement (p = .007), recycling (p = .005), reuse (p = .035), content satisfaction (p < .001), and communication satisfaction (p = .039). However, no significant increases were found in subjective health status, depression, or anxiety. Discussion: The integration of tailored educational content delivered via mobile technology presents a viable strategy for prenatal health promotion. Future studies should explore the long-term impacts and scalability of such mobile-based interventions. Trial registration: Trial registration Number: KCT0007725, Registered September 22, 2022. Importance Ranking of Usability Indicators for Second-Hand Trading Applications Based on Exploratory Factor Analysis—Analytic Hierarchy Process toward Sustainable Development

In contemporary society, excessive energy consumption and rapid product development cycles are seen as significant barriers to sustainable development. Second-hand trading apps have emerged as a solution to this issue that allow the extension of the lifecycle of products to reduce resource consumption and waste generation. This study aims to support the design and development of second-hand trading apps by establishing and prioritizing usability indicators. To this end, we assembled a team of 20 experts and initially identified usability indicators using the Delphi method. Then, data from surveys of 412 users were analyzed using Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) to reduce dimensions, and the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) was used to finally rank the relative importance and priority of these indicators. The results show that of the Level 1 indicators, safety and privacy, learning and operation, and information architecture are relatively highly prioritized. For the Level 2 indicators, property protection, page information architecture, privacy protection, ease of use, and efficiency ranked highly in terms of composite weight priority. The findings of this study will aid in the usability evaluation and enhancement of future second-hand trading apps. By optimizing app usability, increasing user engagement, and thereby boosting the rate of second-hand product purchases, this research contributes positively to the sustainable development of the environment by reducing waste generation.
