Mobile communication switching system for voice/nonvoice services

Abstract

The architecture and service features of a new digital mobile communication switching system are presented. New technologies used in this system include advanced voice coding decoding equipment that allows low-bitrate speech transmission, a speech path monitoring circuit, and a high-quality nonvoice service control scheme.especially useful for handling a large number of subscribers. Narrow-band and low-bitrate transmission technology allows the transmission capacity of a radio link to be increased. And technology for more efficient use of radio channel frequencies, by using smaller zones, is essential for overcoming the lack of available new frequency bands. New services provision
