Mobile Application to Improve Music Theory Learning

Abstract

The general objective of the research was to improve the learning of music theory in the educational institution Mariano Melgar in 2023, the research was applied with a pure experimental design, also, a sample of 60 students was taken from the band workshop, where 30 were assigned to the Control Group (CG) and 30 to the Experimental Group (EG), the latter used the mobile application developed in Android Studio and Unity; Likewise, the information was collected through questionnaires and observation sheets; subsequently, the data was analyzed and processed using the Jamovi V2.3.28. The results showed an increase of 40% in the Level of Understanding of Musical Symbology (NCS), a decrease of 30% in the Number of Errors in Score Reading (NELP) and an increase of 21.4% in the Level of Satisfaction (NSE). It was concluded that the use of a mobile application significantly improved the learning of music theory in the Mariano Melgar educational institution.
