B10+αstates with chain-like structures inN14

Abstract: I investigate 10 B+α cluster states of 14 N with a 10 B+α cluster model. Near the α-decay threshold energy, I obtain K π = 3 + and K π = 1 + rotational bands having 10 B(3 + )+α and 10 B(1 + )+α components, respectively. I assign the band-head state of the K π = 3 + band to the experimental 3 + at Ex=13.19 MeV of 14 N observed in α scattering reactions by 10 B and show that the calculated α-decay width is consistent with the experimental data. I discuss an α-cluster motion around the 10 B cluster and show that… Show more

“…Two very important states in 14 N at E x = 13.2 and 15.39 MeV are populated in α-transfer reaction channel. Both of them fit nicely to a recent antisymmetrized molecular dynamics calculations as the head and the 5 + state of the 10 B(3 + ) + α rotational band (K π = 3 + ) [25].…”

“…The α-cluster structure of 6 Li [22], 10 B [23], and 14 N [24,24], is characterized by a d⊗α configuration and the parallel isotope sequence 7 Li, 11 B [25], 15 N, 19 F by t⊗α configurations. Such configurations are all responsible for the emergence of strong α-cluster resonances near the α-threshold in the respective compound nuclei.…”
