J/ψabsorption by nucleons in the meson-exchange model

Abstract: We reinvestigate the J /ψ dissociation processes induced by the reactions with nucleons, J /ψ+N →D ( * ) + c , in the meson-exchange model. Main constraints used in this work are vector-meson dominance and charm vector-current conservation. We show that the cross section for J /ψ + N →D + c can be larger than that for J /ψ + N →D * + c when these constraints are imposed. The dependence of the cross sections on the coupling constants is analyzed in detail, and the comparison with the recent quark-interchange mo… Show more

“…Comparing with the result in (28), we can attribute a violation of about 20% and 17% in the SU (4) symmetry for the coupling constants in (30). Furthermore, the result is in excellent agreement with the one predicted VDM, g J/ψD * s D * s = 7.44 [21].…”

“…In our calculation, we consider the production rates of à c ð2940Þ þ whose J P assignments are prior assumed. The following Lagrangians describe the interaction of à c ð2940Þ þ with D 0 p for different J P assignments to à c ð2940Þ þ [5,[19][20][21][22]:…”
