No evidence is found in the C( C, 0 ) 2 Ne reaction for a 6+ member of a "superband" predicted by Vogt to lie in the range E"=10-11MeV. We suggest the 6+ state at 12.14 MeV as the 6+ member of the core-excited band built on the 7.20-MeV 0' state. NUCLEAR REACTIONS 12C(iRC, n) ONe, E = 30-37 MeV. Measured gtE(i2C), E"]. 0 lab 3e 75Vogt' has suggested that the 8' state at E"=11. 95MeV in "Ne is not in the ground state band but is the 8' member of a "superband"the core-excited band whose other known members are the 0' state at 7.20 MeV, the 2' state at 7.83 MeV, and the 4' state at 9.03 MeV.Such an identification would require that the 6' member of this superband be in the excitationenergy range 10-11MeV, as depicted in Fig.
