0πQuantum transition in a carbon nanotube Josephson junction: Universal phase dependence and orbital degeneracy

Abstract: In a quantum dot hybrid superconducting junction, the behavior of the supercurrent is dominated by Coulomb blockade physics, which determines the magnetic state of the dot. In particular, in a single level quantum dot singly occupied, the sign of the supercurrent can be reversed, giving rise to a π-junction. This 0-π transition, corresponding to a singlet-doublet transition, is then driven by the gate voltage or by the superconducting phase in the case of strong competition between the superconducting proximit… Show more

“…2c for a junction in the diffusive regime, (that is, with a mean free path shorter than the length L ). While the CPR of atomic point contacts20, nanowire-based quantum dots212223 and graphene24 have previously been measured in this way, the CPR of micrometre-long, quasi-ballistic channels has, to our knowledge, not been accessed.…”

“…A first method consists in the study of the current-phase relation, which can be measured in asymmetric SQUIDs [98,99]. By tuning the electron density via a gate, the goal is to identify the contribution of the topological modes.…”

“…In a second experiment, the existence of a non-local current-phase relation can be directly determined by measurements of the switching current. This type of experiment has been performed on superconducting atomic contacts 35 , graphene 36 and carbon nanotubes 37 . As shown in Figure 4…”
