Abstract:In automatic speech recognition (ASR) the non-linear data prolection provided by a one hidden layer multilayer perceptron (MLP), trained to recognise phonemes, has previously been shown to provide feature enhancement which can substantially increase ASR performance, especially in noise. Previous attempts to apply an analogous approach to speaker identification have not succeeded in improving performance, except by combining MLP processed features with other features. We present test resultsfor the TIMIT databa… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
