Mixed-Valent Selenium Ligands in the Uncharged Iridium Complexes [Ir 4Se10Br16] and [Ir6Se8Cl30]. -The crystal structures of the new compounds (IV) and (VI) are determined by single crystal XRD. The vermillion crystals of (IV) crystallize in the orthorhombic space group Pccn with Z = 4. The structure consists of uncharged tetranuclear iridium complexes [(Ir 3+ )4(4- 2 )2(- Se -[SeBr] -)2( Se -SeBr2)4(-Br -)2(Br -)4]. Each of the Ir atoms is coordinated octahedrally by four Se and two Br atoms. Se adopts three different oxidation states: -1 in the diselenide dumbbell, 0 in the bridging [SeBr]unit, and +2 in the terminal SeBr 2 ligand. The orange compound (VI) crystallizes in the triclinic space group P1 with Z = 1. The structure consists of uncharged hexanuclear iridium complexes [(Ir 3+ )6(- Se -[SeCl] -)2( Se -SeCl2)6(-Cl -)10(Cl -)6] and shows structural motifs similar to (IV). -(STOLZE, K.; RASCHE, B.; RUCK*, M.; Eur.
