Mix Design for Pervious Recycled Aggregate Concrete

Abstract: Pervious concrete is a tailored-property concrete with high water permeability which allow the passage of water to flow through easily through the existing interconnected large pore structure. This paper reports the results of an experimental investigation into the development of pervious concrete with reduced cement content and recycled concrete aggregate for sustainable permeable pavement construction. High fineness ground granulated blast furnace slag was used to replace up to 70 % cement by weight. The pro… Show more

“…This is because the recycled material has greater specific gravities than the ones used in this study. Sriravindrarajah, Wang and Ervin (2012) found similar results because they used recycled aggregates with the same size as the ones used in this study. Figure 6 shown void content of pervious concrete versus the recycled aggregate in different percentages.…”

“…On the other hand, Aamer Rafique Bhutta (2013) and Sriravindrarajah et al (2012) show a strength of pervious concrete with crushed concrete recycle aggregate of 6 MPa and 4,48-6,96 MPa, respectively. Both results agree with this research.…”

“…Porous concrete is defined as a type of concrete with continuous open voids (Sriravindrarajah et al 2012). In general, porous concrete is fabricated with a uniform size of coarse aggregates without fine aggregates to create continuous voids into concrete intentionally (Sriravindrarajah et al 2012).…”

“…In general, porous concrete is fabricated with a uniform size of coarse aggregates without fine aggregates to create continuous voids into concrete intentionally (Sriravindrarajah et al 2012). Since the development of porous concrete in Japan in the 1980s, it has been applied in various ways to restore groundwater supplies and to reduce the runoff from a site (Sriravindrarajah et al 2012;Bhutta et al 2012).…”
