“…The start and stop codons of the PCGs show variation among Strombidae species (Supplementary Table S3 ). For our A. gigas mitogenome, 12 of the 13 PCGs initiate with ATG (NAD4 starts with GTG) which is the most common start codon in Strombidae, and in gastropods in general 12 , 14 , 15 , 22 , 38 , 44 . The PCGs that present the highest start codon variation among Strombidae are NAD4 followed by NAD2, NAD4L, CytB, and ATP6, which have been reported as variable in other species of gastropods (review in 22 ).…”
