Mitochondrial genome of Mola carplet, Amblypharyngodon mola (Hamilton, 1822) and its evolutional relationship in subfamily Danioninae

Abstract: The complete mitochondrial genome in Mola carplet, Amblypharyngodon mola (Hamilton, 1822) was determined by MiSeq platform for the first time in the genus. The mitogenome of A. mola was circular and 16,545 bp in length, which harbours a canonical 13 protein-coding genes, 22 tRNAs, 2 rRNAs, and a control region (D-Loop). Twenty eight genes were encoded on the H strand and the other 9 genes were on the L strand. The incomplete stop codon (TA-/T-) was identified in seven genes (COX2, COX3, ND2, ND3, ND4, ATP6, an… Show more

“…The overall nucleotide composition of C. reba mitogenome was found biased toward A + T contents (58.93%, A = 32.91% and T = 26.02%) over the G + C contents (41.07%, G = 15.16% and C = 25.91%) indicating a strong anti-guanine bias commonly observed in fishes [18]. This pattern was almost the same as the Cyprinid species, which has 15.70% of G content [19]. A total of 31 bp overlapping region was found in 11 different locations of the C. reba mitogenome.…”

“…Compared to other members of the Danioninae subfamily, the overall AT content of the genome is higher, reaching 61.1%, while the GC content is 38.9% (Alam et al. 2018 ). The H-strand of the genome harbored 28 genes, while the remaining 9 genes ( ND6 , tRNA Gln , tRNA Ala , tRNA Asn , tRNA Cys , tRNA Tyr , tRNA Ser(UCN) , tRNA Glu , and tRNA Pro ) were encoded on the L-strand, a common coding pattern observed in teleost fishes.…”
