Abstract:Despite early optimism, therapeutics targeting oxidative phosphorylation (OxPhos) have faced clinical setbacks, primarily stemming from their inability to distinguish healthy from cancerous mitochondria. Herein, we describe an actionable bioenergetic mechanism unique to cancerous mitochondria inside acute myeloid leukemia (AML) cells.
