Mitigation of Transient Recovery Voltages using the Supercapacitor (Dept.E)

Abstract: This paper investigates the use of supercapacitor to mitigate the transient recovery voltage (TRV) in a simple power system. The TRV concept and the phenomena surround its occurrence such as re-ignition and restrike are represented. Also, the different waveshapes of TRV are evaluated.
