Abstract:The LANSCE accelerator has been in operation for nearly five decades. During this period, it was transformed from a 0.8 MW average proton beam power machine used primarily for the study of meson physics, to a multi-user high-power facility for fundamental research and national security applications, concurrently delivering beams to five distinct experimental areas.
