Mise en place d’une collection d’abeilles (Hymenoptera, Apoidea) dans le cadre d’une étude de la biodiversité

Abstract: Establishment of a bee collection (Hymenoptera, Apoidea) as part of a biodiversity study. In the framework of the European ALARM project, we used sampling methods to assess pollinator diversity (bees and syrphid flies) and abondance, and therefore started reference collections. Identification required killing, pinning, and adequate preparation of the insects sampled. We present a set of guidelines for the preparation of bee specimens and a protocol for processing specimens caught in liquid media. We also provi… Show more

“…Subsequently, we merged the occurrences primarily sourced from crowd-sourcing with those documented in the study by Berteloot et al 2024 (n = 99), along with our newly-acquired occurrences. All the collected insects were prepared, labelled and vouchered in the laboratory collection following the insect preparation instruction of Mouret et al (2007) and Fagot et al (2022) . The dichotomous keys from Claerebout et al (2018) were used to identify H. halys in laboratory conditions.…”

“…Beneficial insects were selected for their key role as biocontrol agents and/or pollinators in field bean crops. The method used for the preparation of insects followed the guidelines of Mouret et al (2007) [ 53 ] and Fagot et al (2022) [ 54 ]. Morphological keys of lady beetles [ 55 , 56 ], hoverflies [ 57 ] and wild bees [ 58 , 59 , 60 , 61 ] were used.…”

“…All collected specimens were prepared for identification using Mouret et al ., (2007) protocol. We used several identification keys to define bee and wasp species (Bitsch and Leclercq 1993; Bitsch et al 1997, 2007; Falk 2015; Pauly 2019b).…”
