MiR‐330‐5p negatively regulates ovine preadipocyte differentiation by targeting branched‐chain aminotransferase 2

Abstract: The differentiation of preadipocytes into adipose tissues is tightly regulated by various factors including microRNAs and cytokines. This article aims to study the effect of miR-330-5p on expression of BCAT2 in ovine preadipocytes. Ovine preadipocytes were isolated, and we found that the miR-330-5p expression decreased gradually during the early differentiation of ovine preadipocytes, while BCAT2 expression increased. BCAT2 was identified as a direct target of miR-330-5p, ectopic expression of miR-330-5p could… Show more

“…For example, miR-330-5p can regulate macrophage M2 polarization and insulin resistance in diabetic mice (Sun et al, 2018). MiR-330-5p can negatively regulate ovine preadipocyte differentiation by targeting branched-chain aminotransferase 2 (Shi et al, 2018). In addition, miR-330-5p can suppress glioblastoma cell proliferation and invasion through targeting ITGA5 (Feng, Ma, Ji, Liu, & Hu, 2017).…”

“…BCAT2 expression is downregulated by miR-182 ( Wang et al, 2017 ). miR-330-5p is another negative regulator of BCAT2, as there is an inverse relationship between the two during ovine preadipocyte differentiation ( Shi et al, 2018 ). miR-125a-3p is involved in AA and glucose metabolism, and can inhibit BCAA metabolism by negatively regulating KLF-15, an upstream regulator of BCAT2 in skeletal muscle of fish ( Li H. et al, 2020 ).…”

“…In recent years, many studies have found that miRNAs are involved in many biological processes, such as disease and metabolism [9,10]. Some studies have also shown that miRNAs play an important role in regulating adipocyte differentiation and lipid metabolism [11,12]. KLF13 targeted by miR-425-5p inhibits adipocyte differentiation during porcine intramuscular adipocyte differentiation [13] and miR-26a promoting 3T3-L1 adipocyte differentiation via targeting regulatory PTEN [14].…”
