“…to obtaining significant improvements in J c have been realized for YBCO films, including decoration of substrate surfaces by nanoparticles [2][3][4][5], the addition of oxide nanoparticles [6][7][8][9], multilayering of YBCO with second-phase materials [10][11][12], mixed rare-earth elements doping [13][14][15], and an intentional deviation from the 123 stoichiometry [16,17]. Among these strategies for the enhancement J c of YBCO films, introduction of nanoparticles in YBCO films is the most promising approach for its valuable advantages such as high efficiency and easy control.…”

“…One effort of the Air Force programs is to find alternate means to incorporate these pinning centers, which is amenable to industrial processes. One example is minute doping by the incorporation of very minor additions (≤1% of Y ) of typically deleterious rare earths into high‐quality YBa 2 Cu 3 O 7‐δ thin films to bring about improvement in the film's in‐field current density 18 . In this work, it was accomplished without reoptimization of the deposition parameters.…”

“…In order to improve in-field critical current density, J c , in Y 1 Ba 2 Cu 3 O 7Àd (YBCO) coated conductors, artificial pinning centers (APCs) have been studied significantly [1][2][3]. Pulsed laser deposition (PLD) technique using a doped or 2-phase target with a material for APCs is one of the most promising processes for YBCO coated conductors fabrication because the process is rather easily applicable to the present fabrication system.…”
