Minimization problem in recovering the surface shape from shaded image

Abstract

004.93A mechanism of shape recovery when the light is reflected from a surface is considered. Shape-from-shading recovery is shown to be possible for both diffuse and mirror reflections. Minimization methods are proposed to use to improve the mirror reflection algorithm.
