Abstract: Purpose of review Universal and targeted screening of newborns for congenital cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection is increasing globally. Questions remain concerning the management of infants who have been identified with congenital CMV infection, especially those with “minimally symptomatic” or clinically inapparent infection.
