“…In contrast to fine needle aspiration biopsy, which is cytological, the aim of imaging-guided core needle biopsy is to obtain adequate tissue sample for histological diagnosis. Core needle biopsies are widely used in many oncological subspecialties as an effective alternative to open biopsy (Ortiz et al, 1996;Boland et al, 2013;Finger, 2014;Héran et al, 2014). Many recent studies, in human literature, report advantages of core biopsy over fine needle aspiration biopsy as oncological diagnostic procedure (Woodcock and Morgan, 1998;Orlandi et al, 2013).…”

“…Recently, Finger et al 37 proposed using a 20-G aspiration cutter to obtain tissue at multiple sites through a small-incision anterior orbitotomy, and the initial results were encouraging. After histological confirmation of the primary lesion, imaging of the body is required for staging of the disease.…”

“…The minimally invasive, sutureless anterior orbitotomy biopsy using a Finger's aspiration cutter device was a newly proposed technique that offers minimal disruption of tissue to achieve sufficient results. 49 This technique is more specifically used to obtain tissue biopsy for histopathological analysis. A 3-mm incision is made along the superior eyelid crease or conjunctival fornix.…”
