Miniaturized Wideband Microstrip Antenna for Recent Wireless Applications

Abstract: In this paper, a pentagon slot inside fractal circular patch microstrip resonator to design compact antenna over partial ground plane is introduced using 3rd iteration of adopted fractal geometry. This antenna is modeled on FR4 substrate with a size of (20 x 18) mm2, thickness of 1.5mm, permittivity of 4.3 and loss tangent of 0.02. The used type of feeding is microstrip line feed. It is designed to operate at wide frequency range of (4.5-9.3) GHz at resonant frequencies of 5.7GHz and 7.9GHz with impedance band… Show more

“…Microstrip technology has been widely adopted in many RF and microwave devices in numerous wireless applications due to its cost effectiveness, smallness and desired frequency responses. Microstrip devices may include microstrip filters [1][2][3][4][5][6][7], microstrip diplexers [8,9] and microstrip antennas [10][11][12][13][14][15]. In recent years, specifically, bandpass filters (BPFs) have a significant role in modern wireless mobile communication systems.…”

“…Novel zeroth-order resonator antenna (ZORA) is an example of CRLH -TL since its electrical length is zero, so antenna size can be more reduced than conventional antennas [11]. However, enormous research has been studied to reduce the mutual coupling between antenna elements of MIMO systems with reducing space between them such as metamaterial polarization-rotator (MPR) wall [12] and partial ground [13]. On the other hand, the researcher of [14,15] are used and discussed the defected ground structure (DGS) and tree structure respectively.…”
