“…Calcium sulfate deposits (gypsum and anhydrite) of Paleozoic age are distributed around the Loei–Wang Saphung and Nakhon Sawan areas of mainland Thailand (e.g. Chonglakmani, Fontaine, & Vachard, ; El Tabakh & Utha‐Aroon, ; Jacobson et al, ; Ueno & Charoentitirat, ). Among these, the sulfate deposits in the Loei–Wang Saphung area of northeast Thailand have been investigated in drilled cores (Surakotra, ; Surakotra, Pisutha‐Arnond, & Warren, ; Utha‐Aroon & Surinkum, ).…”

“…The authors mentioned many previous studies, as mentioned above, however, there were no description about geological setting around Loei at all. Jacobson et al (1969) proposed the geological data in northern part of Loei-city, and prepared the geological map and the stratigraphic chart (Table 1) (Saurin, 1963).…”

“…The district is underlain predominantly by Paleozoic rocks of the Indochina Block beneath the Khorat Group where deformed sedimentary and volcanic rocks of Silurian, Devonian, Carboniferous, and Permian ages were intruded by Triassic‐Jurassic calc‐alkaline plutons that are associated with Fe‐Cu and Au‐Ag mineralization. The LFB hosts a variety of mineral deposits including the Cu‐Au skarn deposits, Au skarn deposit, epithermal Au deposit, and epithermal Sb‐Au deposit in the area around Loei, Phetchabun, Nakhon Sawan, Lobburi, and Chachoengsao (Jacobson et al, ; Müller, ; Rodmanee, ; Kamvong & Zaw, ; Salam, ; Paipana, ; Zaw et al, ). The LFB extends northwards into Lao People's Democratic Republic.…”
