Millimeter-Wave Single-Pixel Imaging Using Electrically-Switchable Liquid-Crystal Mask

Abstract: In this study, we have proposed a millimeter-wave (MMW) single-pixel imaging (SPI) system with a liquid-crystal (LC) mask cell. The LC cell functions as an electrically switchable mask based on the change in absorption properties, which depend on the orientation of the LC. We investigated the influence of noise on the measured and estimated data (reconstructed image). The proposed system exhibited moderate robustness against random noise (that were added) compared to raster scan-based and Hadamard matrix-based… Show more

“…With the rapid development of microelectronics technology, the increasing maturity of the integrated circuit process, and the continuous exploration of the depths of satellite communications, radar aerospace, and other fields, the application and development of RF semiconductor devices at microwave millimeter-wave frequencies have gradually occupied an important position in high-speed communications [1,2]. In order to reduce the cost and improve the performance, some key dimensions of the process have been continuously reduced.…”
