Das Hochskalieren von Prozessen ist die Erhöhung der Durchsatzmenge oder der Produktionskapazität eines chemischen Prozesses unter vergleichbaren Prozessbedingungen. Der Einsatz und die Scale‐up‐Strategie von kontinuierlich betriebenen mikrostrukturierten und konventionellen Rohrreaktoren werden beschrieben. Dimensionslose Kennzahlen zur Strömung und die Energiedissipation im Mischkanal bestimmen die Vermischung und den Wärmeübergang. Kinetische Parameter exothermer Reaktionen werden vorgestellt, die das sichere Hochskalieren mit verändertem Wärmeübergang beschreiben. Insgesamt wird das Hochskalieren durch modular aufgebaute Apparate erleichtert, die mithilfe der Plattformstrategie auf verschiedenen Niveaus des Durchsatzes oder anderer Prozessparameter konzipiert werden. Ein Beispiel erläutert das Hochskalieren eines pharmazeutischen Prozesses bis in den Tonnen‐Maßstab.
