Miíase Labial

Abstract

A palavra miíase tem sua origem do grego (myia = mosca, ase = doença) define uma infestação de larvas de dípteros em animais vertebrados pelo menos em uma fase do seu desenvolvimento, alimentando-se dos tecidos vivos ou mortos do hospedeiro, de suas substâncias líquidas ou do alimento ingerido (MARTINEZ, et al. 2003); (MAZZOTTINI e SOTTOVIA, 2002). É uma dermatose de maior incidência nos trópicos e é mais RESUMOOs autores fazem uma revisão na literatura mais recente das possíveis espécies da ordem díptera que podem causar miíase no ser humano e os diversos tratamentos propostos. Relatam um caso clínico de miíase labial em um paciente branco com 32 anos do sexo masculino e sem nenhuma doença sistêmica de base.
