“…Estas nuevas tecnologías, y entre ellas las redes sociales, influyen en la toma de decisiones durante el proceso migratorio, facilitan la búsqueda de información y asentamiento en destino, son una fuente de conocimiento sobre el proceso migratorio, ayudan a mantener y crear lazos con familiares y amistades, sirven para la creación de comunidades después de la llegada a la sociedad de destino, y pueden ser un mecanismo para participar en la vida cultural y debate socio-político en el país de origen (Dekker y Engbersen, 2014;Diminescu, 2008;Komito, 2011;Oiarzabal y Reips, 2012). El migrante conectado mantiene sus relaciones y vínculos con familiares y grupos de pares en origen durante su proceso migratorio (Diminescu, 2008), mientras que contacta con un tejido social más amplio caracterizado por los vínculos débiles a través de su participación a través de redes sociales como Facebook (Komito, 2011;Gius, 2019;Williams Veazey, 2020). Entendemos por vínculo débil, el concepto propuesto por el sociólogo Mark Granovetter (1973), que explica la influencia que tienen las tenues relaciones interpersonales en la sociabilidad humana.…”
