It is interesting here to add that in a recent paper by Bahra et al (2020) attention has been drawn to the distribution of MSA sites (some Aterian) in eastern Algeria where, as in the Tunisian examples, they were found in the vicinity of the Chotts megalake and freshwater springs. Clearly, access to fresh drinking water must have been an important consideration and is a recurrent feature of these MSA open-air sites.…”
