Abstract:A source of tunable femtosecond solitons up to 4.8 µm is presented. The pulses emitted by a 2.8 µm mode-locked fiber laser are amplified in an Er-doped zirconium fluoride fiber and undergo soliton self-frequency shift in a small-core indium fluoride fiber.
