Microwave Solvothermal Fabrication of Zirconia Hollow Microspheres with Different Morphologies Using Pollen Templates and Their Dye Adsorption Removal

Abstract: Both porous and scale-like wall zirconia (ZrO2) hollow microspheres were successfully prepared through a facile and mild microwave solvothermal method using the rape pollen as biotemplates. The formation mechanisms were discussed for both ZrO2 hollow microspheres fabricated using pollen biotemplate with different pollen treatments. The porous ZrO2 hollow microspheres had a specific surface area of 40.92 m2·g–1, significantly higher than scale-like wall ZrO2 hollow microspheres (24.79 m2·g–1) and ZrO2 particles… Show more

“…On the other hand, the design and the use of various functional biomaterials for drug loading and release in the development of electro‐stimulated drug release devices have become in a promising trend using bacterial cellulose or chitosan nanocapsules . Green adsorbents based on cellulose or carbon nanocomposites are another promising area . During the recent years, a noticeable growth in the demand of wearable bioelectronic devices, which can monitor motions, was registered.…”

“…Thermogravimetric analyses (TGA) of LC and MgBCs are displayed in Figure b. The TGA curve of LC exhibited that the pollenin decompose in three steps within the temperature range of 30–900 °C . The first mass loss of 4.54 % in the temperature region from 30–150 °C can be attributed to the loss of water .…”

“…The TGA curve of LC exhibited that the pollenin decompose in three steps within the temperature range of 30–900 °C . The first mass loss of 4.54 % in the temperature region from 30–150 °C can be attributed to the loss of water . The second mass loss (51.05 %) takes place rapidly between 200–400 °C, and followed by the final mass loss of 30.02 % at 400–900 °C, corresponding to the main degradation of LC with the elimination of volatile organic compounds .…”
