Abstract:The analysis of traveling-wave electrooptic modulator on z-cut and x-cut lithium-niobate substrates is carried out using the finite element method based on a quasi-TEM approximation. The microwave effective index, characteristic impedance, and frequency dependent attenuations are calculated.
