“…As the % loading of GSE the transparency of the prepared membranes is decreased. The reason for the decrease in transparency for GSE loaded membranes is that GSE concentration and the thickness of the membranes (see Table 2 ) also one of the important reasons for the decrease in the optical transparency [ 46 ].…”

“…This behavior may be due to increased flexibility of the membrane materials as the % loading of GSE increases in the polymer matrix. The prepared membranes are flexible because of the internal hydrogen bonding and increase the intermolecular spacing [ 46 , 49 ]. The obtained results show that as the GSE content in the blend polymeric membrane increases, so does the elongation at break.…”

“…This study was carried out to better understand the ability of the developed nanocomposite membranes to perform antimicrobial activity. ZnO NP's were tested for antimicrobial activity three times [31][32]. A fruits like orange and black grapes were used as used as the control, and an inhibited zone was discovered against E. Coli and S. aureus, and the fruit part was severely affected by these microorganisms, as shown in figure 4.One can clearly infer from the above figure that ZnO nanoparticles distributed in the prepared PDA media was least affected.…”

“…Polymers based on HEMA were first mentioned in a study from 1936 [ 2 ], but only after 1960 when Wichterle and Lim [ 28 ] obtained the first hydrogel based on HEMA, was a way opened for the preparation of new types of hydrogels with various chemical structures being designated for use in biomedical applications. In recent years, semi-IPNs consisting of crosslinked networks based on HEMA and linear polymers that can be natural (alginate, selacan, chitosan, hyaluronic acid, chondroitin sulphate) or synthetic (poly(vinyl alcohol), poly(N-vinylpyrrolidone)) have been prepared and used in different applications [ 29 , 30 , 31 , 32 , 33 ]. Regarding the semi-IPNs based on HEMA and another synthetic polymer, the information is quite limited.…”
