“…Machine learning clustering algorithm processes large amounts of data from DFT calculations to speed up the screening of transition metal alloy catalysts . The tool’s ability to highlight potential associations has the potential further to elucidate material properties and their effects on surface reactions. Parallel to theoretical calculations, there is a range of in situ information obtained from infrared spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, X-ray absorption spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction pattern, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy giving a clear and concise description of the sites and reaction mechanisms, integrating these techniques with other characterizations.
