A multisensor target seeker comprising a staring IR camera and an imaging mm-wave pulse radar has been developed. This paper presents the staring mm-wave focal plane sensor array used for the imaging pulse radar system.A hybrid manufacturing technology for mm-wave integrated circuits combining a modified MCM-D process based on BCB and InP HEMT resistive mixers bonded on top of the chip was used to manufacture a staring 94 GHz 4 x 4 integrated antenna receiver array which uses a quasioptical LO feed.A minimum conversion loss of 14 dB was obtained for a single sensor in this array. Measurements of antenna diagrams for a 30 cm parabolic reflector fed by different sensors in the focal plane array showed good agreement with calculations. The highest relative sidelobe level was approximately -12 dB for this array.
