Abstract:Pre‐tensile deformation and subsequent annealing treatments are conducted on a MP159 superalloy. It is shown that pre‐tensile deformation can significantly improve the strength of the alloy with obvious sacrifice of the ductility. The subsequent annealing treatment further improves the strength of the alloy but without the consumption of the ductility. The strength and ductility synergy are due to the annealing‐induced stacking faults (SFs) and γ′ nanoprecipitates. The length and density of the annealing‐induc… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
