Glass-Ceramic Superconductor. -The title compound is prepared by melting a mixture of Bi2O3, SrCO3, CaCO3, CuO, and V2O5 in air (1150°C, 90 min). The samples are characterized by SEM, XRD, DTA, current-voltage characteristics, and Hall effect measurements. Beside changing the phase, partial substitution of vanadium for Bi in Bi 2 Sr 2 Ca 2 Cu 3 O x to form the title compound has also different effects on the physical, electrical, and magnetic properties of the compound. -(KAYED*, T.
