Abstract:pathways expressed were in the IL-1, IFN-g, TNF, NFkB axis and the interferon-induced STAT1 pathway that would be expected in Th1 biased immune responses to viral infection. The gene networks for the Th2 cytokines IL-4 and IL-13, like the Th1 responses of IFN-g, showed more activation for the healthy subjects than the asthmatic and more activation by RV-A compared to RV-C peptides. CONCLUSION The gene networks activated showed that susceptibility to asthma exacerbation was not associated with heightened respon… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
