MicroRNA-466 with tumor markers for cervical cancer screening

Abstract: Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer in women in the world. In this study, we explore tumor markers and microRNA-466 combination for cervical cancer screening. Tumor markers were measured by the methods of electro-chemiluminescent immunoassay and enzyme immunoassay. The microRNA-466 was performed by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction. Among normal group, hyperplasia group and cancer group, the CEA expression levels were 2.26 ng/ml, 3.85 ng/ml and 16.08 ng/ml, respectively. While the C… Show more

“…Nevertheless, miR-466 was found to be overexpressed in cervical cancer tissues and cell lines. High miR-466 expression was correlated with lymph node metastasis of cervical cancer patients (23). These conflicting studies suggest that miR-466 displays tissue specificity in regards to its expression status and biological roles in human malignancies.…”

“…A large number of miRNAs are aberrantly expressed in cervical cancer and play crucial roles in the onset and progression of cervical cancer by acting as either an oncogene or a tumor suppressor 26–28 . Therefore, investigation of the expression, biological roles, and underlying mechanisms of miRNAs in cervical cancer might provide valuable therapeutic targets in the treatment of patients with this disease.…”

“…As a class of small noncoding RNAs, microRNAs (miRNAs) play significant roles in post‐transcriptional gene regulation by targeting the 3′UTR of target messenger RNAs (mRNAs) and decreasing the stability and/or translation of these mRNAs (Bei et al , ). MiRNA dysregulation and its effects have been observed in a variety of human diseases, and various miRNAs can function as potential candidates for CC treatment and prognosis (Liang et al , ; Wang et al , ; Zhou et al , ). In particular, miR‐93 is reported to be involved in CC metastasis and invasion (Wang et al , ).…”
