Microporous and Photoluminescent Chalcogenide Zeolite Analogs

Abstract: Crystalline semiconducting sulfide and selenide zeolite analogs were synthesized that possess four-connected, three-dimensional tetrahedral networks built from tetravalent (M4+ = Ge4+ or Sn4+, where M = meta) and trivalent (M3+ = Ga3+ or In3+) cations. Microporous materials were obtained in all four combinations of M4+ and M3+, and some of them were thermally stable up to at least 380 degrees C. These materials exhibit framework topologies with pore size ranging from 12 to 24 tetrahedral atoms, high surface ar… Show more

“…The CP contact time in the CPMAS experiment was 3.5 ms. The 31 P, 27 Al, and 29 Si NMR spectra were recorded with 1 H decoupling during data acquisition, and the chemical shifts are referenced with respect to external solutions of C 6 F 6 (δ F ¼ −163 ppm), AlðH 2 OÞ 6 3þ (δ Al ¼ 0.0 ppm), 85% H 3 PO 4 (δ P ¼ 0.0 ppm), and tetramethylsilane (TMS, δ Si ¼ 0.0 ppm), respectively.…”

“…Multinuclear, 19 F, 31 P, 27 Al, and 29 Si, NMR spectra were recorded on the as-synthesized material at room temperature with an 11.7-T Varian InfinityPlus 500 (IP-500) spectrometer corresponding to Larmor frequencies of 470, 202, 130, and 99 MHz, respectively. The 19 F MAS-NMR spectrum was recorded on a sample loaded in a 3.2-mm (o.d.)…”

“…Meanwhile, organic amines with different C/N ratios and molecular structures play a key role in the formation of various architectures. More recently, Feng and co-workers reported gallium and indium chalcogenide frameworks with protonated organic amines or alkali/alkaline earth metal cations (Li + , Na + , Ka + , Ca 2+ ) [15,16]. …”

“…The 55 new structures that have emerged in the intervening time could all, in principle, be obtained using the methods outlined in that report and discussed above. Among the structures synthesized and characterized since 1999, the following (Figure 2) were specifically described: RWY [27] (structure 1_1 in Ref. [28]); NPO [29] (structure 1_88); BCT [30] (1_211) and UFI [31] (3_835).…”
