“…We considered that the VFFs' ability to secrete ECM proteins might decrease after culture in vitro and implantatation in vivo. The dADSCs and ADSCs showed their capabilities to simulate the orderly composition of ECM proteins, as described in previous studies [9], [18], [19]. This may be related to the role of regulatory factors and the microenvironment after injury, although further research is needed to understand the relevant effective mechanisms.…”

“…Previously reported methods to create vocal fold injury in the rabbit include Cup‐forceps biopsies, vocal fold stripping, laser ablation, and microflap incision . In some cases, the injury extended to the cartilaginous glottis or deep into muscle . As most current research in vocal fold tissue‐engineering focuses on the regeneration of the lamina propria, it would be advantageous to have an injury model for which the injury depth is largely confined to the lamina propria, does not involve total loss of the lamina propria, simulates vocal fold injuries in humans, and can be created with precision in a graded manner.…”

“…Immediately after injury, 50 μL of solution containing 5.0 × 10 5 GFP‐labeled ASCs or 50 μL PBS was gently injected into the right thyroarytenoid muscle via a 30‐gauge needle affixed to a microsyringe. The injection layer was designed based on previous reports …”

“…Recently, mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) have attracted attention as a promising therapeutic cell population because they have multilineage potential and produce several growth factors . Adipose‐derived mesenchymal stromal cells (ASCs) and bone marrow‐derived mesenchymal stromal cells (BMSCs) are often used, and their restorative effects after vocal fold injury have been confirmed in animal models . ASCs have greater proliferating potency, are easily isolated, and 500 times more cells can be collected compared to BMSCs with an equivalent amount of tissue .…”
