Micronesian Ethnography from a Disordered Soul?

Abstract: Summary A career of ethnographic and political work in the former Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands was sparked by a desire to atone for having fought in the United States’ colonial war in Vietnam. This article explores the question of whether pursuing atonement via ethnographic work in itself constitutes a form of colonial exploitation.
