Microgrid stochastic economic load dispatch based on two-point estimate method and improved particle swarm optimization

Abstract: Summary Economic load dispatch (ELD) is a key issue for the economic and eco‐friendly operation of smart grids. With the increasing prevalence of renewable energy generation (REG), the stochastic properties of REG are drawing increased attention in the field of microgrid ELD. In this paper, the microgrid ELD problem considering uncertain REG, namely stochastic ELD (SELD), is formulated based on the wait‐and‐see approach. SELD is an optimization problem constrained by stochastic variables, and the optimal solut… Show more

“…Wu et al presents a coordinated optimal operation of WP‐PV‐BS system to supply fixed power to the grid by reducing the power generation cost and LCC of BS for diverse meteorological scenarios. A stochastic objective problem is formulated considering the RES uncertainty in Tan et al through wait‐and‐see method for energy scheduling in microgrid. Shi et al converted energy management into optimal power flow problem by dispatching energy through the central and local controller of the microgrid in the distribution network.…”

“…In recent years, many researchers have focused on solving the EED problem associated with wind power [1][2][3][4][5][6][7]. Kumar and Suna in [1] developed a chemical reaction optimization algorithm based on the chemical molecular reaction to optimize total cost in wind-fossil-fuel-based power systems.…”

“…In order to reduce the emissions, Denny and O'Malley [3] developed a forecasting method for wind power, which is utilized in the dispatch decisions. In [5], Tan et al utilized two-point estimation method combined with particle swarm optimization to solve the stochastic economic load dispatch problem in microgrid which integrates the renewable energy generation. A traditional low-carbon emission dispatch analysis combined with the impact of wind power was proposed in [7].…”
