In Anbetracht der nachgewiesenen ubiquitaren Verbreitung der chlorierten Kohlenwasserstoffe in der Umwelt sind in jedem Oberflachenwasser Riickstande von Wirkstoffen, Isomeren und Metaboliten dieser Insektizide zu erwarten. Da fur die Trinkwasseraufbereitung in verstarktem Ma5e Oberflachenwasser herangezogen wird, ist eine rechtzeitige Einschatzung der Trinkwasserquellen von groljer Bedeutung, um mogliche Risikofaktoren beizeiten zu eliminieren. Zur Ermittlung der Wasserkontamination wurden Oberflachen-, Regen-und Trinkwasser aus der Umgebnng der Stadt Potsdam auf Riickstande untersucht. Die von den F'roben durch Ausschiitteln mit n-Hexan extrahierten Riickstande wurden ohne weitere Reinigung gaschromatographisch an 2 Saulen unterschiedlicher Polaritat mit Elektronen-Einfang-Detektoren bestimmt. Die Nachweisgrenze betrug O,OI ppb (pg/kg). Als Riickstande wurden p,p'-DDT. p,p'-DDE, p,p'-DDD und Lindan nachgewiesen. Die hdchsten Riickstandsgehalte enthielt das Oberflachenwasser (26 Proben) mit o bis 3.20 ppb DDT, o bis 0,98 ppb DDE, o bis 0,50 ppb DDD und O,OI bis 0,67 ppb Lindan.In 9 Regenwasserproben wurden im Durchschnitt o,19 ppb DDT, 0,05 ppb DDE, o,oz ppb DDD und 0,08 ppb Lindan ermittelt. In den untersuchten 17 Trinkwasserproben konnten durchschnittlich 0.10 ppb DDT, 0.06 ppb DDE, 0.04 ppb DDD und 0,05 ppb Lindan nachgewiesen werden. In Regenwasser war in 2 Fallen noch a-HCH vorhanden. Die ini Trinkwasser vorhandenen Riickstande miissen als unerwiinscht angesehen werden, auch wenn die Gesamt-DDT-Aufnahme bei einem taglichen Trinkwasserkonsum von etwa 2 1 nur 0,4 pg betragt. Andererseits erfolgt die tagliche Aufnahme unvermeidbar. Deshalb muO ebenfalls von dieser Seite aus die stufenweise Reduzierung des DDT-Einsatzes in der DDR begrii5t werden.
