Micro-scale hydrological field experiments in Romania

Abstract: Abstract:The paper (communication) presents an overview of hydrologic eld experiments at micro-scale in Romania. In order to experimentally investigate micro (plot)-scale hydrological impact of soil erosion, the National Institute of Hydrology and Water Management founded Voineşti Experimental Basin (VES) in 1964 and the Aldeni Experimental Basins (AEB) in 1984. AEB and VES are located in the Curvature Subcarpathians. Experimental plots are organized in a double systems and have an area of 80 m (runo plots) at… Show more

“…A rainfall simulator device, which is one approach to obtain such information, is shown in Figure 4C. To obtain meaningful results, experimental design procedures must be appropriate, 129 adequate, and standardized methods need to be used. 130 Enough events must be observed with sufficient repetitions to adequately characterize the system.…”

“…1A). Specifically, AEB represents the determination of the surface runoff and the infiltration parameters during natural and simulated rainfalls; research of genetic runoffs and soil erosion processes [MINEA, MOROŞANU 2016]. The geomorphological region of the Curvature Subcarpathians is characterized by high torrentiality, strong soil erosion and the highest sediment transport of rivers in Romania MOŢOC 1984;RĂDOANE 2005;ZAHARIA et al 2011].…”
