Micro-RNA (miRNA) profile in Hodgkin lymphoma: association between clinical and pathological variables

Abstract: miRNAs are small RNAs and control the expression of protein-encoding genes. The aim of this study was to determine the association between miRNA profile and clinical variables including age, stage, B symptom, histopathologic subtype, response to treatment, disease-free survival (DFS) and overall survival (OS) in classical Hodgkin lymphoma (cHL). A total of 377 miRNAs were studied by qPCR in 32 cases with cHL, and results were compared with 60 samples taken from cases with reactive lymphadenopathy. Biogazelle q… Show more

“…miR‐876‐5p is a relatively recently identified miRNA that is deregulated in various human cancers. miR‐876‐5p is one miRNA that is decreased in Hodgkin's lymphoma . In osteosarcoma, decreased miR‐876‐5p expression is positively correlated with advanced clinical stage and poor overall survival rate .…”

“…They reported 11 miRNAs upregulated and 13 downregulated. Two of them showed a correlation with clinic pathological variables; while miR-889 was upregulated in patients with B-symptoms, miR-127-3p was upregulated in NS compared to MC patients [28]. …”
