“…This is an indication of a potential Leidenfrost effect, which might occur at even higher temperatures, as has previously been observed with other reacting solids. [45] The evolution of gas and bubbles serves to lift the sample above the plate. This phenomenon may also occur due to the high helium sweep rate (200 mL min À 1 ) used in Visual PHASR.…”

“…In the past, the environment with vacuum39 and/or high-temperature40 was used to build the condition of low-vacuum and/or low-humidity. Inspired by this, we attempted to fabricate local environment with low-vacuum and low-humidity by a frosting process.…”

“…To confirm this opinion, we fabricated the superhydrophobic coating by one-step spray methods from nano-chains, nano-spheres and nano-aggregates paints respectively for comparison of condensation performances. For another, self-propelling motion of isolated droplets or particles also could be triggered by unbalanced pressure394041. Thus, we designed a frosting-defrosting process to achieve local high-pressure under the frost crystal on the nano-chains coating for observation of the melting frost self-ejecting (MFSE) motion.…”

“…In the case of the Leidenfrost ratchet, a Leidenfrost drop can even be made to climb a small incline or race around a maze following a predetermined path [88]. A small solid consisting of cellulosic particles [89] self-propelling on a Leidenfrost ratchet has also been found and represents an example of a biomass conveyor with no moving parts driven solely by high temperatures [90].…”
