“…11b) with a depth of d=250 μm made by both machining methods at V t =1000 mm/min, the W a and R a in HASJM (W a = 6.9 μm and R a =1.1 μm) were, respectively, 51 and 15 % less than in AWJM (W a =14.1 μm and R a =1.3 μm). This is consistent with the previous study by Haghbin et al [11].…”

“…The system was used to machine micro-channels over a wide range of aspect ratios (depth/width), and the system process parameters such as pressure, traverse velocity, standoff distance, and slurry flow rate were optimized for micro-machining purposes. A preliminary investigation by Haghbin et al [11] showed that this HASJM system produced channels with centreline roughness (R a =1.35 μm) and waviness (W a =1.93 μm) that were, respectively, 19 and 44 % smaller than those produced with conventional abrasive water jet micro-machining (AWJM). This was attributed to a more consistent abrasive flow rate and the elimination of air bubbles in the erosive jet.…”

“…There are many parameters that affect the surface roughness of pre-mixed abrasive water jet cutting, which are divided into jet system parameters (number of 1-10) and mechanical system parameters (number of [11][12][13][14][15][16][17][18]. Combining the self built 5-degree of freedom pre-mixed abrasive water jet cutting system, 18 commonly used parameters were selected for analysis, as shown in Table 1.…”

“…Abrasive water jet is divided into post-mixed abrasive water jet and pre-mixed abrasive water jet [8][9]. Compared with the post-mixed abrasive water jet, the mixing mechanism of the abrasive particles and water medium of the pre-mixed abrasive water jet is improved, the abrasive concentration distribution is more uniform, the energy transmission efficiency is higher, the abrasive particle speed is larger, and the cutting ability is higher [10][11][12].…”
