MGT/HTFC Hybrid System Emulator Test Rig: Experimental Investigation on the Anodic Recirculation System

Abstract: The Thermochemical Power Group (TPG) of the University of Genoa designed and installed a complete hybrid system emulator test rig equipped with a 100 kW recuperated micro gas turbine, a modular cathodic vessel located between recuperator outlet and combustor inlet, and an anodic recirculation system based on the coupling of a single stage ejector with an anodic vessel. The layout of the system was carefully designed, considering the coupling between a planar SOFC stack and the 100 kW commercial machine install… Show more

“…More specifically, an emulator plant [61] is being operated to test control approaches in hardware-in-the-loop configuration, considering not only traditional approaches, but also innovative ones (e.g. model predictive control logics [62], which is considered promising in co-generative plants [63]).…”

“…including an anodic recirculation based on a single stage ejector. While this emulator rig was developed on the basis of the experimental results obtained with the plant show in Fig.4 (part B), the main details and results related to the complete hybrid system emulator are shown in [31,32]. To complete the presentation of the ejector rig, Fig.5 shows the flowchart for the experimental operations related to this work.…”
