Metrics in Large-Scale Agile Software Development: A Systematic Mapping of Literature

Abstract

Guided by the need to coordinate activities of multiple agile development teams collaborating to build a large software product, software organizations are adapting to adopt agile software at scale. However, monitoring this progress on a large scale is challenging due to the many variables influencing the software project outcome. This paper aims to fill this gap to understand the current usability scenario, solutions, and adaptations of agile metrics on large scale projects. A systematic literature mapping was carried out for this analysis, and the evidence is composed of sources published between 2010 and 2022. A synthesis of fifteen studies provided evidence from the literature and a set of metrics applied to agile and largescale projects, including "Velocity", "Net Promoter Score", and "Sprint Health".
