Methyl parathion detection in vegetables and fruits using silver@graphene nanoribbons nanocomposite modified screen printed electrode

Abstract: We have developed a sensitive electrochemical sensor for Organophosphorus pesticide methyl parathion (MP) using silver particles supported graphene nanoribbons (Ag@GNRs). The Ag@GNRs nanocomposite was prepared through facile wet chemical strategy and characterized by TEM, EDX, XRD, Raman, UV-visible, electrochemical and impedance spectroscopies. The Ag@GNRs film modified screen printed carbon electrode (SPCE) delivers excellent electrocatalytic ability to the reduction of MP. The Ag@GNRs/SPCE detects sub-nanom… Show more

“…Figure 7(a) depicts the Raman spectrum of GO QDs and the major Raman features of GO QDs are the D band at around 1324 cm − 1 , the high G band at 1589 cm − 1 and the small broad 2D band at around 2236 cm −1 . The D band represents the defect in graphitic structure 5557 and the G band represents the symmetric vibration of carbon atoms in graphite structure 57 . The intensity ratio of D band and G band ( I D / I G ) represents the defect density in carbon structure 58 .…”

“…As a classic pesticide, methyl parathion (MP) has made important contributions to the field of crop protection and pest control [1]. However, the problem of MP residues has a serious impact on human health and the environment [2,3,4]. Therefore, research and development for a convenient and efficient detecting method for MP at trace levels have attracted more and more research interests from scientific researchers.…”

“…It should also be noted that the preparation of high-performance electrochemical sensors is largely dependent on chemically modified electrodes. Among the many modification materials, carbon materials (graphene [4,14,15,16,17], carbon nanotubes [18,19,20], mesoporous carbon [21,22], etc.) play a significant role in improving electrochemical sensor performance.…”
